The Natural Hero Foundation develops books, lessons, and experiences that help children view themselves, each other, and nature with openness. We know that diversity is not an exception. Diversity is nature.

A world where you can simply be yourself

That world does not yet exist. In 66 countries, LGBTQIA+ people are still criminalized under laws that refer to what is supposedly 'unnatural.' Yet nature itself shows that there are countless ways to live, love, and form families. And even where equality is legally enshrined, not all children and young people feel free to be completely themselves. That's why we help children discover that differences are not strange, but a natural part of life.

Because every child deserves to grow up in a world where you don't have to explain who you are, but can simply be yourself.

Our lessons use nature as a starting point for wonder, conversation, and recognition.

Each lesson includes a clear age indication, making it easy for you as a teacher to find material suitable for your group. The lessons also align with various core objectives such as Orientation on oneself and the world, Dutch language, Artistic orientation, and Citizenship. Our lessons have now been used by over 4,000 schools in the Netherlands.
